Khao Soi- A Northern Thai Chicken Curry Noodle Soup at the Grand Central Market

Packed with people, the Grand Central Market is an L.A. staple and while many people come for breakfast fare at Eggslut or huge portions at Taco Tumbras a Tomas, the real gem is Sticky Rice Too known for their Khao Soi, a northern Thai chicken curry soup. With their stand out, bright blue paint Sticky Rice is where to go when you’re in the mood for the ultimate bowl of comfort food.

Crunchy noodles, tangy pickled mustard greens, shallots, cilantro, red onion, chili oil, and a lime wedge sits atop a beautiful ochre yellow coconut milk broth that is both rich and complex filled with soft egg noodles and chicken. Once you bring the soup spoon to your mouth, you smell the sweet aroma of coconut mixed with the full-bodied smell of spices. After all the toppings have been mixed together, with every bite you taste a slightly new combination of flavors. Although, you may be tempted to try everything at the Grand Central Market, I guarantee the Khao Soi will be a new favorite that you’ll be craving the next time you’re in the mood for a good bowl of soup.
