Jamaican Jerk Chicken at Ackee Bamboo

In downtown Leimert Park lies Ackee Bamboo Jamaican Cuisine making Los Angeles' best jerk chicken, with its bold, spicy flavors. With every bite you can taste the spice seasoning rub and the long hours its been marinating. Each plate is served with a generous serving of rice and peas, steamed cabbage salad, plantains, and my personal favorite the festival bread which is a light, slightly sweet, fried fritter. If your craving an appetizer, I recommend to try the Jamaican patties that come in beef, chicken, or vegetable. Come hungry since the portions are big and I recommend to go for lunch where you can get a lunch plate for around $13. Once you're done eating check out the African arts shops, the Art + Practice art gallery, and the Fernando Pullman Community Arts Center which you'll recognize as the non-profit Issa Dee works at if you watch Insecure.
